Rocking Rudolph

Rocking Rudolph, Santa and his Sleigh

Having delighted young and old for over 30 years, it is with a heavy heart that Derwent Lions have decided that it is not practical to safely visit villages with our Santa’s Sleigh this year due to the COVID pandemic.

Santa does hope to make a ‘socially distanced’ appearance at village schools and care homes where this can be organised safely.

We regret the disappointment that this will cause and trust you understand that the safety of our community, members and volunteers must take precedence.

The consequence of this decision will impact severely on our fundraising and we regret that, over the next 12 months, our club will be unable to sustain our previous level of support for people less fortunate. Government policy permitting, we do intend to provide our xmas tree recycling service for a limited number of postcodes (YO19 5, YO19 6 , YO41 4, Y041 1) for the benefit of St Leonard’s Hospice.

We understand times are tough for many. However if you feel able to make a donation to help support our charitable services next year, we would be very grateful.
