Earlier this year, the Lions Clubs of Derwent and Minster came together to stage their annual charity concert at Queen Margaret’s School. Presenting a cheque for £1,700 to Lesley Schatzberger of Jessie’s Fund, Lion Ken Sutcliffe said “We are delighted to support such a worthwhile charity, who provide music therapy to children with additional needs. Our concert is staged in the wonderful auditorium at Queen Margaret’s and we are grateful to the school, our sponsors, and our performers for helping to make this event our most successful yet!” Lesley responded, “Jessie’s Fund very much appreciate all the good work the Lions do for both our community and disadvantaged people worldwide. This fantastic donation will allow us to help more children express themselves through the language of music.” Acting Head of Queen Margaret’s, Carole Cameron added “We greatly value the relationship that we have with Derwent and Minster Lions and the fact that it allows the School to help support such a worthwhile charity and look forward to another great event in 2015.”
